James Carville on Ralph Nader:

“I wouldn’t urinate down his throat if his heart was on fire.”

While I certainly agree with the sentiment, I have to disagree with my hero Mr. Carville. I would, if called upon, urinate on Ralph Nader like there was no tomorrow.

Look, I’m all for third parties and different points of view. It truly is what makes this country great. But that’s not what we’re dealing with when the subject is Nader. It’s plain and simple ego run rampant.

Example: To get on the ballot in Michigan, Nader needed 30,000 signatures. He was able to muster just 5,400 people who wished to see him in the race. So does Nader have to sit Michigan out? Not after Republicans collected 43,000 signatures for him. A reasonable person, a patriot, or really anyone who cares about this country would see this for what it is. But Nader, seeing a chance to further his anti-hero status, plows ahead.

One look at state polls shows that the most of the battleground states are within (or very close to) the margin of error when Nader is factored in.

Al Gore ran one of the worst campaigns in history, and but for Nader, would be in the White House today. Maybe Nader never thought he could have been the difference in 2000. But he sure as hell knows it now.

His continued presence in this race proves that he deserves Carville’s (and millions of other other’s) wrath.

Any Nader fans left out there? Even though Nader isn’t running as a Green, the dare still stands.
