Bill O’Reilly Admits: Fox News “Tilts Right”

NewsflashFox News isn’t really fair and balanced! To many people, this is less than shocking; as far as information goes, it ranks right up there with “puppies are cute” or “the sky is blue”. But when this kind of admission comes straight from the mouth of a Fox News personality like Bill “Factor This” O’Reilly, it’s worth a mention.
O’Reilly, on his July 19 radio show:
“And FOX does tilt right, I believe.”
Hold the applause, because O’Reilly then destroys whatever credibility he earned with the typical funhouse-mirror logic of the “No Spin Zone”.
“But they [Fox] don’t actively campaign or try to help Bush-Cheney. In fact, I can tell you from the inside that the Republicans are, you know, very uneasy with FOX, because FOX is a very aggressive network.
(snip)
So, you know, it’s not like the Bush administration is cozying up here. They’re — they’re very uneasy with FOX because they know FOX has a tremendous amount of power in the Republican/conservative independent arena.”
So let’s get this straight. Fox tilts right, and this makes the Republicans uneasy? I didn’t realize that continually positive press coverage on the highest-rated cable news network was such an immense cross to bear. Thanks for setting us straight, Bill…and try to lay off the peyote, ok?
To gauge this Republican angst toward Fox News, we searched for a good quote from a senior administration official. Thankfully, Vice President Dick Cheney was happy to oblige.
“I end up spending a lot of time watching Fox News, because they’re more accurate in my experience, in those events that I’m personally involved in, than many of the other outlets.”
As he said those words, you can bet he was crying a little bit on the inside.
