Wonder How the Fire Department Feels About This

Even though fireworks are illegal in just about all of California, somehow I’m lucky enough to live in a town that takes a more “enlightened” view. The annual attempt to burn the place down (or as I like to call it: The Mexican Revolution) takes place this weekend. The police department really does join in the fun.

fireworks USED to be illegal in most parts of the state, but that is no longer true. over the last 5 years, there has been considerable relaxation in thier restriction, and over 1/2 of the state’s counties now allow the sale of fireworks (safe & sane) for the week prior to the 4th of july.

They are legal in Pacifica, Capitola, Watsonville, Newark, Union City, Gilroy and San Bruno. The rest of the bay area is a little less ghetto about the issue.

Come to San Bruno this weekend, and I’ll show you safe and sane if my house doesn’t get burned down.
