Because He Has Spent Previous Funds So Wisely

So the administration wants another blank check for the military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Estimates range from $25 to $50 Billion just to finish out the year.

To mark this occasion, let’s take a look at other ways the Iraq war funds ($200 Billion and counting) could have been appropriated:

  • Cancer research funding at current levels for 40 years
  • 440,000 full-salaried teachers for 10 years
  • NASA budget for 13 years
  • Health insurance for 50 Million children for a year
  • In addition, the cost of the Iraq war has risen to over $400 per U.S. citizen. That is more than the tax refund checks from 2003, and even more than the new child care tax credit.
