Quality Control

Forget hang gliding, rock climbing or hurling yourself out of an airplane. If you want a hobby that is sure to cause a lump in your throat, try being a club promoter. Over the past ten or so years, both Matt and myself have fallen victim to this particular obsession; and while Matt tends to confine his gambling to Vegas nowadays, I still occasionally put my money and pride on the line to throw a club night.

Such was the case last Friday, when Quality touched down at San Francisco’s Space 550 night club. Featuring drum & bass headliner Dieselboy and three rooms of music, it wasn’t an easy event to put on…the term “herding cats” comes immediately to mind. But with a lot of help from my friends (especially Matt, who graciously offered to be the cashier) and an enthusiastic crowd, the night turned out to be a total success. Check the photos!

Oops, my bad…that stack of twenties is actually a photo from Munee Cashilini’s last trip to The Luxor. Granted, this only represents about 47 minutes of gaming time; I left my wide-angle lens at home, so I couldn’t shoot the whole pile.
