No One Knows Real News Like CNN

I have nothing against Jessica Lynch—obviously she went through a horrific ordeal in Iraq, and has shown a lot of heart in recovering from her injuries. But I have no idea why her personal life should be considered news. Obviously CNN.com disagrees with me on this, deciding to put Lynch in their “Top Stories” heading because she decided to postpone her wedding. I don’t know what is more ridiculous about this—that CNN feels that this is a “top story” (look at the other stories grouped with it, for comparison), or that Jessica Lynch needs a lawyer to make statements about the matter.

I think both aspects of that are pretty ridiculous… I understand she went thru a horrible ordeal, and that very bad things happened, but as you point out, do we need to know or should we care or should we want to care about her impending marriage. You’d figure with the state of current affairs, CNN would be able to fill that list of top stories 5 times over with “real” news items.

i blinked twice when i saw that on cnn.com myself. crazy. in light of this, and after listening to your appearance on madden, i’d like to suggest that you add to “Links That Matter” a heading for “reliable news sources” that you guys read every day.
