In his review of The Passion of the Christ, rotund veteran movie critic Roger Ebert said:

The movie is 126 minutes long, and I would guess that at least 100 of those minutes, maybe more, are concerned specifically and graphically with the details of the torture and death of Jesus. This is the most violent film I have ever seen.

So it isn’t that surprising that during the climactic (and reportedly excessively bloody) scene a Kansas woman had a heart attack and died on opening day.

Add that to this story about POTC star James Caviezel (who got served yesterday) getting struck by lightning while making the movie, and you have the most hazardous film since The Twilight Zone Movie.

Think maybe someone didn’t want another movie made about him?

I know I do.

Things of questionable taste that did not cause death or electrocution:

Dennis Franz’s bare naked ass on NYPD Blue
Janet Jackson’s piercing
Ralph Nader’s 2000 presidential run
Ralph Nader’s 2004 presidential run
Showgirls and Striptease
Any of TNT’s New Classics
Brit Brit’s wedding
Cell phone calls from God
and of course, the cancellation of The Cosby Show

Who will think of the children?

Kinda reminds you of that scene in Scrooged where Bill Murray gets all excited because some old lady died of a heart attack while watching the excessively violent and frightening promo for the Christmas Carol special his TV syndicate is running.
