We Got Your Joe-mentum Right Here

I don’t know what we did to deserve this, but Joe Lieberman is not dropping out of the race for the Democratic nomination. He was quoted as thanking the people of NH for putting him in a three-way tie for third place. Third…fifth, who can tell the difference.
In his speech following the NH results, Lieberman said that this wasn’t a campaign, it was a cause. WTF? What cause is that exactly? In the most comic line of the night, Lieberman said that he was the candidate that the White House feared most because of his positions on defense, security, and his votes for war in 1991 and 2003. Yes, they are quaking in fear of running against someone who agrees with them about everything yet isn’t already the President.
A close runner up was when he said that John Kerry wasn’t a mainstream Democrat. I’m not sure how much more mainstream a candidate can get. Kerry is the definition of middle-of-the-road Democrat.
It’s time to hang it up Joe. It’s too late to save face, but don’t let that stop you.

the big thing about his staying in race, alongside dennis, is the debate issue.
by being up there onstage, they get to bounce questions and issues off the frontrunner(s)…which, in dennis’ case, is a good thing, cos he can press kerry et al on issues like trade and nafta and healthcare and the war resolution.
joey, on the other hand, is only able to press the front runners into counter-productive, defensive stances, where they need to assert their conservativeness/republicanness.
but, of course, it’s a fucking democratic party debate!
again, joe needs to be smitten, and fast.

I wish I knew how to program this site to replace the text “dennis” or “kucinich” with random other words.

some random words could include “alfred e” and “newman”? or perhaps “cheese fries” and “onion rings”?
