In another news story that went almost-unnoticed during the holidays, David Kay quietly resigned from his job as the administration’s chief WMD sleuth. Too bad they didn’t find any WMDs in Saddam Hussein’s beard while they were doing the lice check. That would have ruled.

Of course, presidential spokesman Scott McClellan says that the search is still “an important priority”. There has been no confirmation to the rumor that Kay will be replaced by actor Jerry Orbach as his beloved Law & Order character Lennie Briscoe.
