Here is a Department of Defense statement calling reports of a Iraq-bin Laden connection “inaccurate”.
The classified annex was not an analysis of the substantive issue of the relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda, and it drew no conclusions.
I wrote about the Weekly Standard’s piece a few days ago, as well as Fox News’ bandwagon jumping. To date, I haven’t seen any retractions by either of them. At least the DoD saw fit to come clean.
Injustice
This piece from the always excellent Center for American Progress focuses on the legal limbo of two U.S. citizens accused of terrorism. They are being held in total isolation and are not even alowed to have legal counsel. For any Republicans out there, at this point I feel the need to say I DON’T SUPPORT TERRORISTS. But these men have inalienable rights.

Also Amendment XIV
Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
The Prez simply doesn’t have the right to take these rights away.
The founders said that our creator granted us these rights. Is that the same creator that The Prez believes in?
As someone who criticizes this administration on a daily basis, I’d like to know that there is no chance that I could be picked up and thrown in a hole somewhere, stripped of all my rights. I don’t think that I’m wrong in thinking that this is possible.
