Adidas all up in your area
by matt at 8:22 am on October 29th, 2003 in GeneralFull disclosure: I was forced to wear Nike until I was 18 because my dad
worked for them. Not until I moved out of Casa de Neil was I able to wear
anything but Oregon’s finest. Ignorance was bliss (and free) everywhere
but on the soccer field. One of my fondest memories was the first game I
played in college wearing the pinnacle of design, the adidas Copa Mundial.
Since then, I have gone German non-stop.
Since discovering adidas Originals a few years back, I have been in awe of
the styles they have been recycling. My Ivan Lendl tennis sweater, Spezials,
Gazelles, and many others are staples of my wardrobe.
Nothing, and I do mean nothing, could have prepared me for what I saw
this morning.

I already placed my order, so don’t try biting my stizz. I am counting down
the hours until I can put together my golf ensemble, just like my hero
Grand Theft Auto’s Tommy Vercetti

In case anyone doubts the veractiy of matt’s comment, I too was forced to wear Nike exclusively until I moved to New York in 1997. Here’s the strange thing: I still wear ‘em. Once, I got a pair of adidas and I sort of felt, well, dirty. I have a cute pair of steve madden knock offs that lok a little like bowling shoes that I wear without shame, but my work out shoes and my “soccer” sandals both hail from Oregon (or, actually, some poor nation and some poor child that doesn’t get paid enough).
What matt did not mention was the family vacations to the Nike factories when they were state-side. I am not kidding.

Well, you two could trade….Grambo could get the golf shoes, and Matt can get unlimited use of the term “obvs”.
